Oracle Agentic AI Foundations Associate is the best agentic AI certification to take first if you want a free, currently available exam; GitHub GH-600 is the live paid choice for engineers who build and operate agents in the GitHub ecosystem. Google is between beta and general availability, NVIDIA is announced but not open for registration, and Claude Architect is limited to partner organisations.

Which agentic AI certifications you can take today

As checked on 27 October 2026, Oracle Agentic AI Foundations Associate 1Z0-1157-26 is live and free, and GitHub Certified: Agentic AI Developer GH-600 is live. Claude Certified Architect is also active, but only employees of Claude Partner Network organisations can register, so it is not a public individual option.

The other names need more care. Google Professional Agentic Architect has finished its beta and says GA registration opens in mid-November 2026; NVIDIA NCP-AAI is announced with registration marked “Coming soon”; and GitHub GH-700 Business Professional is a beta, not a generally available replacement for GH-600.

Oracle Agentic AI Foundations Associate (1Z0-1157-26)

Status. Oracle's current learning path marked the credential “NEW” and offered “Get Started,” so it was live when checked on 27 October 2026. Who it is for. It suits people new to agentic AI, plus AI and ML engineers, cloud developers and data scientists; Oracle recommends basic LLM, Python and OCI familiarity rather than treating them as formal prerequisites.

Format. As of October 2026, it is an online certification exam with 40 questions in 60 minutes; Oracle does not state the question types or a test-centre option. Price. It is $0 as of October 2026, making it the only free certification exam in this comparison.

Validity. Oracle does not state a validity period for this credential; it says applicable validity dates appear on certificates. Free official preparation. The Oracle learning path includes a free course, six skill checks, exam preparation and a practice exam.

GitHub Certified: Agentic AI Developer (GH-600)

Status. GH-600 is live and bookable through Pearson VUE, as checked on 27 October 2026, while GitHub Certified: Agentic AI Business Professional (GH-700) is in beta. GitHub's separate GH-300 Copilot exam is live, but it is not the agentic-AI developer credential compared here. Who it is for. This GitHub agentic AI certification is for engineers who operate agents in the software development lifecycle; the GH-700 beta is instead aimed at business professionals designing agentic workflows.

Format. As of October 2026, GH-600 is a 120-minute proctored exam in English and may include interactive components, while its question count is unpublished; the GH-700 beta is 100 minutes. Price. Microsoft prices GH-600 by the country where you take it, so check the amount when you schedule; GH-700 is a beta, not a generally available alternative.

Validity. GitHub certifications are valid for two years, with a move toward Microsoft recertification and interim six-month extensions for qualifying expiries. Free official preparation. GitHub provides free Microsoft Learn training and a study guide for GH-600 on its official certification page.

Google Cloud Professional Agentic Architect

Status. Google's beta closed on 30 September 2026, and its certification page states “GA registration opens mid-November” when checked on 27 October 2026. Who it is for. The target is technical practitioners—developers, cloud architects and engineers—with no formal prerequisite, though Google recommends substantial cloud and Google Cloud agentic-solution experience.

Format. As of October 2026, Google describes the GA certification as a two-hour proctored multiple-choice exam, online or at a test centre, followed by hands-on labs in Google Skills; it does not publish the question count. Price. Google lists $200 USD at GA as of October 2026; the discounted $120 applied only to the closed beta.

Validity. Google says the certification is valid for one year, with a continuous-education path intended to maintain active status. Free official preparation. An official exam guide and a 12-activity Google Skills path are available, but the public path is not explicitly labelled free.

NVIDIA-Certified Professional: Agentic AI (NCP-AAI)

Status. NVIDIA lists the credential as announced: its page said “Register for Exam (Coming soon)” when checked on 27 October 2026. Who it is for. The NVIDIA agentic AI certification targets software developers, engineers, solution architects, ML engineers, data scientists, AI strategists and specialists who already have one to two years in AI or ML roles and production agentic-AI project experience.

Format. As of October 2026, NVIDIA describes 60 to 70 questions in 120 minutes, online with remote proctoring; it does not state the question types or a test-centre option. Price. The listed price is $200 as of October 2026, but registration is still “Coming soon,” so it is not an exam you can book yet.

Validity. NCP-AAI is valid for two years from issuance, with recertification by retaking the exam. Free official preparation. NVIDIA links an official study guide, but identifies no zero-cost course and lists paid courses rather than free exam preparation on its certification page.

Claude Certified Architect

Status. The current FAQ says certification is “available only to organizations in the Claude Partner Network,” when checked on 27 October 2026. Who it is for. Foundations is for solution architects building agent systems, while Professional is for architects who design and govern enterprise-scale Claude solutions; neither has a formal prerequisite, but both require employment at a partner organisation.

Format. As of October 2026, each exam takes 120 minutes, with multiple-choice and scenario-based multiple-response questions. Price. Foundations costs $125 USD and Professional $175 USD as of October 2026, with proctored delivery online or at a Pearson test centre.

Which agentic AI certification should you take

You are new to agents or changing into an AI role. Take Oracle first if you want a public credential now and are prepared to learn the LLM, Python and OCI basics it recommends. It costs nothing and gives you a structured foundation; skip the NVIDIA exam for now, and do not delay your learning for Google's or NVIDIA's unavailable registrations.

You are a developer or DevOps engineer working with GitHub and Copilot. Take GH-600 first, because its audience is engineers operating agents in the development lifecycle rather than people seeking a broad introduction. Take Oracle beforehand only if you need the grounding; skip the GH-700 beta unless your goal is specifically business-workflow design and you accept beta status.

You are a cloud architect building on Google Cloud. Wait for Professional Agentic Architect GA registration if the credential is a direct job requirement, and use the official guide and Skills path to prepare in the meantime. You work with NVIDIA's AI stack in production. NCP-AAI matches your experience only after it opens, because NVIDIA expects hands-on production-level agentic-AI work rather than first-time study. Your employer is a Claude Partner Network organisation. Choose Architect – Foundations for agent-system design, then take Professional only when your goal is enterprise architecture, governance and evaluation. You can take Professional without Foundations, but Foundations is the safer order when you are building up production architecture experience; if your employer is not a partner, skip both for now.
