AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) · Test 12 · question 10 of 10
An operations team wants to be told about AWS service events that affect the specific resources in its own account, and about planned AWS activities, such as scheduled maintenance, that it needs to prepare for. The team wants a console that needs no setup and is available to every AWS customer at no additional cost. What should the team use?
Show answer and explanation
Answer:
AWS Health gives ongoing visibility into your resource performance and the availability of your AWS services and accounts. Its *events* show how service and resource changes might affect your applications, and it helps you prepare for planned activities. The AWS Health Dashboard is available to all AWS customers at no additional cost and requires no setup. Health events can also be received through Amazon EventBridge at no additional cost. Programmatic access through the AWS Health API, however, requires a higher AWS Support plan.
Option B, Amazon CloudWatch, monitors metrics, logs and alarms that *your* resources and applications produce. It doesn't tell you about AWS service issues or AWS-scheduled activities. Option C, AWS Trusted Advisor, reviews your account against best practices for cost, security, fault tolerance, performance and quotas. It doesn't report AWS service events. Option D, AWS CloudTrail, records API calls made in your account, not events on the AWS side.
