CLF-C02 Practice Question 28: Global Content Delivery
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) · Test 3 · question 8 of 10
Visitors in Europe and Asia complain that images and videos on a website load slowly. The site's origin is an Amazon S3 bucket in a single US Region. The company wants copies of this content cached close to viewers around the world. Which service should it use?
Show answer and explanation
Answer:
Amazon CloudFront is a content delivery network that speeds up distribution of static and dynamic web content. It delivers content through a worldwide network of edge locations: each request is routed to the edge location with the lowest latency, cached copies are served immediately, and content that is not yet cached is retrieved from the origin, such as an S3 bucket, and then cached at the edge.
Option A, Global Accelerator, improves performance and availability by directing traffic over the AWS global network to application endpoints such as load balancers and EC2 instances, but it does not cache content at the edge, and an S3 bucket is not one of its endpoint types. Option C, S3 Transfer Acceleration, speeds up long-distance file transfers into an S3 bucket, such as uploads from around the world; it does not cache content for viewers. Option D adds resilience within the same Region but does nothing about the distance between that Region and viewers on other continents.
