Show answer and explanation
Answer:
Microsoft defines a region as a set of physical facilities, datacenters plus networking infrastructure, and states that a region consists of one or more datacenters connected by a high-capacity, fault-tolerant, low-latency network connection, typically within one large metropolitan area. Azure offers over 70 of them.
Option A is too small: a region is one *or more* datacenters, and a single building is not the unit Azure exposes to you. Option B is one level up; that is a geography, a fixed data residency boundary such as the United States or Europe that contains one or more regions, and it is the boundary you pick within when you have residency requirements. Option C is one level down: independent sets of datacenters with isolated power, cooling, and network connections inside a region are availability zones, and many but not all regions have them.
