GCP Associate Cloud Engineer Practice Question 42: Undelete Shut Down Project
Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer · Test 5 · question 2 of 10
An engineer deleted a production project by mistake two weeks ago. The team now realizes the project and its resources are needed. The organization has not changed any policies related to project deletion.
What should you do?
Show answer and explanation
Answer:
When you delete a project, it enters a pending deletion state (a shutdown) for 30 days by default. During that period the project owner, or a principal with the right permission, can restore it with gcloud projects undelete or from the console's Resource Manager, and most resources come back (some may need to be restarted).
Option A fails because a project ID cannot be reused, even after a project is deleted. Option B is unnecessary because you can recover the project yourself. Option C is wrong because the deletion is not immediate and permanent until the recovery window ends.
